Position:  Fleet Mechanic

Hourly rate range based on experience of $25 - $30 per hour 
 
Definition:
  • Primary responsible for the repair and maintenance of all company vehicles.
  • Responsible for completing repairs, adjustments and preventative maintenance service and checks on company vehicles in accordance with prescribed PM policies and procedures. 
  • Responsible for accurate record keeping of all services and repairs completed.
  • Responsible for alerting the Maintenance Manager for any suspected or confirmed abuse of company vehicles/equipment.  
  • Responsible for determining if reported failures are the result of improper operation by crew members, material defects, normal wear, or other causes.
  • Responsible for facility and ground maintenance as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Complete preventative maintenance checks and services on all vehicles.            
  • Perform diagnosis and repair on brake systems.
  • Perform diagnosis and repair of electrical systems.
  • Perform diagnosis and repair of power train.
  • Perform diagnosis and repair of air conditioning/heating systems.
  • Respond to road calls as needed.
  • Remain abreast of changes and trends in the industry.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of methods, material, tools, and techniques used in the repair and maintenance of a variety of automotive and mechanical equipment: operating principles of gasoline and diesel engines and of mechanical repair of vehicles ranging from passenger cars to in the one (1) ton category.
  • Locating, correcting, and adjusting defects in complex automotive and mechanical equipment; performing skilled work in repairing, overhauling, and maintaining gas and diesel powered automotive equipment; intercepting and working from charts, technical manuals, and diagrams; using and caring for tools and equipment used in automotive and mechanical repair work; maintaining detailed and routine records.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both a written and oral manner.
  • Ability to maintain a good driving record.
  • Ability to strictly adhere to established safety policies and guidelines.
  • Currently possess a current valid driver’s license.
  • Two (2) years of confirmed experience as a mechanic, or One (1) year of confirmed experience after successful completion of an industry recognized trade school or college.
  • Strong background in electrical, air conditioning, heating, braking, and power train systems.  To include diagnosis and repair.
  • Certification for procurement/purchasing, of refrigerant type gases and oils for air-conditioning systems.
  • Must furnish own tools.
  • Must be available 24 hours a day.
 
 
Physical Requirement:
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to use a variety of Office Equipment.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 Lbs.

  • No emotional, mental, nervous, organic, or functional disorder likely to interfere with safe emergency driving and operation of automotive repair machinery or tools.
  • No impairment of use of foot, leg, hands, arms or other structural defects or limitations likely to interfere with safe driving and operation of automotive repair machinery or tools.
 
Job Responsibilities Related to Patient Privacy:
 
  • The incumbent is expected to protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with the Company’s privacy policies, procedures, practices, as required by federal and South Carolina law, and in accordance with general principles of professionalism as a health care provider.  Failure to comply with the Company’s policies and procedures on patient privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment or association with Medshore Ambulance Service.

Definition:
The Director of Operations is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the overall field operations of a business unit throughout a designated geographical area. Position:  Operations Supervisor

Definition:
  • Responsible for recruiting, screening, hiring and orienting all field staff.
  • Responsible for evaluating, coaching and disciplining all field staff.
  • Responsible for developing and staffing master schedule, including call in/fill in.
  • Responsible for tracking, monitoring and submitting payroll per company policy.
  • Receives and resolves any field crew questions, concerns or issues regarding pay, benefits or other personnel issues.
  • Directs and leads support staff in inventorying, ordering, receiving, stocking and issuing medical, office and shop equipment and supplies.

  • Responds to emergencies and non-emergencies using appropriate care and caution in accordance with state law, EMS regulations, company policy, and the principles of safe emergency vehicle operation.
  • Renders emergency and non-emergency medical care and transportation in accordance with local medical protocol and state law, adhering to company, local, regional, and state guidelines regarding patient care consistent with good judgment and the provision of high-quality medical care.
  • Appropriately and safely delivers the patient to the appropriate medical facility.
  • Acts at all times in the best interests of high-quality patient care, in the best interest of the patient, and in such a manner to reflect credibly on the company and the professional reputation of the EMT.
  • Acts at all times with his/her personal safety in mind, as well as the safety of his/her partner, the patient, other EMS personnel, bystanders, and any other public safety personnel present.
  • Accompanies patients to their destination, continuing to provide appropriate care and patient advocacy until the responsibility for the patient has been transferred to an appropriate medical professional and a report has been given.
  • Completes and signs all appropriate documentation for every response and transport.
  • Obtains complete medical histories and billing information for all patients treated and/or transported.
  • Maintains security and privacy of all company and patient information at all times in accordance HIPPA and all other local, state and federal regulations.
  • Adheres to Universal Precautions/Body Substance Isolation when dealing with patient contacts. Is familiar with and practices the Infection Control policies and procedures of company.

Reports To:
  • Field Supervisor or Operations Manager as appropriate for all operational activities.
 
Specific Duties:
  • Demonstrates complete knowledge, understanding and compliance of company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that vehicle and all equipment is ready for use at the beginning of each shift and after every call. This includes: appropriate cleaning and disinfecting of the interior and exterior of the vehicle; appropriate cleaning and disinfecting of equipment; inspecting; restocking, and completing daily checklists of the vehicle and equipment; and performing some routine maintenance.
  • Ensures security of buildings, vehicles, equipment, medications and all other company property.
  • Performs daily inspections of their base and/or station for cleanliness. Then performs the appropriate housekeeping duties to ensure their living quarters are clean, free from clutter and sanitary at all times.
  • Maintains appropriate communications with company dispatch, medical control and other agencies via radio, data link, pager or cell phone as required.
  • Be knowledgeable as to local geography to include location of hospitals, public venues as well as local streets and highway systems.
  • Responds to hospitals, nursing homes and other locations to provide courier and medical transportation services.
  • Provides safe passenger movement from/to wheelchair/stretcher at home, hospitals, nursing homes, airports and other facilities.
  • Provides passenger safety monitoring , enroute to the hospital and during transportation to, from and/or between facilities.
  • Provides passenger monitoring per state law, adhering to company, local, regional, and state guidelines.
  • Appropriately and safely delivers the passenger to the appropriate medical facility.
  • Acts at all times in the best interests of high quality passenger care, in the best interest of the passenger, and in such a manner to reflect credibly on the company and the professional reputation of the Driver.
  • Acts at all times with his/her personal safety in mind, as well as the safety of his/her partner, the passenger, other personnel, bystanders, and any other public safety personnel present.
  • Accompanies passenger to their destination, continuing to provide appropriate monitoring and passenger advocacy until the responsibility for the passenger has been transferred to an appropriate medical professional and a report has been given.
  • Completes and signs all appropriate documentation for every response and transport.
  • Obtains complete medical histories and billing information for all passengers and/or cargo transported.
  • Maintains security and privacy of all company and passenger information at all times in accordance HIPPA and all other local, state and federal regulations.
  • Adheres to Universal Precautions/Body Substance Isolation when dealing with passenger contacts. Is familiar with and practices the Infection Control policies and procedures of company.
  • Accepts responsibility for recertification in CPR and First Aid and for other required license’s and certifications as required by company, local, regional, and state policies, regulations or laws.
  • Reports to assigned shifts on time, properly groomed in uniform and on time unless the proper notification has been made. Remains on-duty and in proper uniform until properly relieved.
  • At all times sets an example of professionalism and leadership for others to follow. Places passenger care excellence and safety above all else.
  • Performs other duties as directed by management.

Position:  EMTs & Paramedics

Summary:
Baptist Ambulance is looking for Part Time certified EMTs & Paramedics to work at the University of Mississippi Football Games during the Football Season.
 
Ensures compliance with all State of Mississippi EMS rules and regulations. Checks and maintains all ambulance equipment and vehicle to insure it is clean and in proper working condition. Maintains all company required licenses and certifications for an EMT position. Must hold a State of Mississippi Drivers License. Must attend mandatory training in addition to all EMT required courses. Follow all company policies and procedures including company medical director approved protocols and standing orders. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Respond to all calls for service dispatched from the Baptist Ambulance communications center as directed.
  • Provide care and treatment to patients according to company policy and the company medical director protocols.
  • Ensures ambulance and all equipment is cleaned and checked daily. Any deficiencies should be reported immediately to the shift supervisor or Operations Manager.
  • Prepares and completes appropriate reports including Patient Care Reports (PCR), billing, exposure reports, incident reports, daily, weekly and monthly unit check offs.
  • Ensures unit and crew members adhere to Baptist Ambulance policies, procedures, guidelines, directives and standards. Reports any deficiencies to the shift supervisor or Operations Manager.
  • Ensures vehicle placed in-service comply with required laws, rules license, and regulations as outlined by the State of Mississippi and other authorized agencies.
  • Prompt and regular attendance at work and mandatory meetings.
  • Maintain a state of readiness and professionalism while on-duty.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct while in company uniform either on or off duty.
  • Self-motivated and requires little supervision and direction.
  • Performs other such duties as may be required

Qualifications
Minimum EMT Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • State of Mississippi EMT License

  • PHTLS or equivalent certification (within 6 months of hire date)

Position: Facility Contract Biller

Definition:
• Responsible for prompt and accurate billing of contract customers as assigned. 
• Responsible for coordinating collection efforts as needed with local operation leadership.
• Responsible for maintaining contract database in coordination with local operation leadership and Regional Finance Director.
